The big-city vibrancy of Bangkok sits in the grime, grunge and decay of urban chaos; an environment stressed by intense and unruly use. Haphazard and often shoddily built, everywhere I look are the stains, rust and cracks of wear, and it is depressingly easy for residents to ignore this deterioration.
But looking more closely at the detail, with detachment, it can inspire. Man-made objects and surfaces subjected to the weathering process gain a more natural character and can be quite striking in their detail. I take this further through macro photography and Photoshop to create new worlds.
The background scenes are already there hidden wherever man-made surfaces are left exposed to weathering. I hope my creations help people see the possibilities.
